About The Bless Project
“Bless” is a project to enable people from our church and community to understand the rich history and effective language of blessing and be able to offer blessings to one another. We aim to empower our congregation to bring the “joy and wonder” of our church community into a living and ongoing relationship with the lives of people in the Kennebunks.
Upcoming Events!
This year South Church has been focusing our efforts on Blessing with support from a grant from the Calvin Institute. With this in mind we are holding the second annual Open Mic Night on Friday, September 19th at 7:00pm at the Community House located on Temple Street, directly across from the Kennebunkport Post Office. We invite community members to present a piece of music, poetry, or prose. And, of course listeners are welcome and needed too! This event is free and open to the public. Join us and share or witness how music and spoken word is a blessing in our world!

Open Mic Night

All events are free and open to the public! We hope you will join us to learn about the art of blessing!
Blessing Structures
The Blessing Booth | Come experience the Blessing Booth on the South Church River Green (next to 2 North Street, Kennebunkport). Write a blessing for others, read the blessing that the community offers to you.
The Blessing Weaving | Participate in the community Blessing Weaving which will be at a various locations throughout the community. Hold material and envision a blessing for the whole community. Then weave!
The Blessing Booth and Blessing Weaving will be available for viewing June 24 through September 19. The Blessing Booth will be open on the South Church River Green during daylight hours (please visit to add your blessings)! The Blessing Weaving will be available on the South Church Portico and "on the road" in various community locations.

In addition to the Blessing Structures (see further down), please join us for any or all of our events apart of The Bless Project series. The official calendar of events is available on the right, with the upcoming events highlighted below.
All events are free and open to the public - all are welcome!
Location of Events:
All events, except the worship with Rev. Nancy Taylor, will be held at The Community House, 8 Temple St., Kennebunkport.
The worship service will be held in the Sanctuary at South Congregational Church, 2 North St., Kennebunkport.
